Suzuki - available from our Brighton store
In 1909, Michio Suzuki founded the Suzuki Loom Company in the small seacoast village of Hamamatsu, Japan. But despite the success of his looms, Suzuki realized his company had to diversify and he began to look at other products. Unfortunately the onset of World War II halted production plans for Suzuki's innovative 800cc small car. After the war, the Japanese had a great need for affordable, reliable personal transportation. To fill this need Suzuki developed a motorized bicycle called, the "Power Free." Designed to be inexpensive, simple to build and maintain the 1952 Power Free featured a 36cc two-stroke engine. By 1954, Suzuki was producing 6,000 motorcycles per month and had officially changed its name to Suzuki Motor Co., Ltd. Today Suzuki is one of the world's leading manufacturers of motorcycles.

Hayabusa 1300
Ever since we introduced the Suzuki Hayabusa, it's had only one competitor: Itself. That's why the new 2008 Hayabusa is so impressive - compared to the original, it's hotter than ever. For enthusiasts, that comparison will make your heart pound.

The new Hayabusa's engine is thoroughly updated for more power and an improved power-to-weight ratio, which you'll experience as an even greater rush of acceleration. Its refined chassis and suspension help provide crisper handling. And its striking new fairing offers sleeker aerodynamics. The original Hayabusa was the best. With the 2008 Hayabusa, you're looking at better than the best.

GSX-R1000
If any bike can claim to rule the racetrack, this is it. By applying the latest technology and years of hard fought racing experience, Suzuki's latest generation 2008 GSX-R1000 is designed to deliver what the rider wants, when the rider wants it.

The compact 999cc liquid-cooled engine with Suzuki's Dual Throttle Valve (SDTV) fuel injection system has been developed to offer excellent power and throttle response. Three engine power settings are available at the flick of a handle-bar mounted switch, each with its own engine map depending on road or track conditions.

The adjustable back-torque limiting clutch makes for smoother downshifts while the high-volume titanium/ stainless steel Suzuki Advanced Exhaust Systems (SAES) features an under-body chamber and two low-slung mufflers for increased internal volume and lower centre of gravity. Also contributing to the advanced aerodynamics is the aggressively style bodywork, slicing the air with the smallest frontal area possible.

GSX1400
It's impossible not to be impressed by this beast. The unmistakable GSX1400: 1402cc of muscle-ripping power, delivered in spades courtesy of the largest displacement in-line four-cylinder in its class.

Purring with leading-edge components, the GSX1400 has a long piston stroke that delivers arm-wrenching torque at low and mid-range rpm. It boasts Suzuki's Dual Throttle Valve Fuel Injection System that provides optimum fuel mixtures and a more responsive throttle. The durable 46mm inner-tube forks help refine the road below - to your specifications.

The spring preload, rebound and compression damping are all adjustable, as is the case with the dual piggyback-reservoir rear shocks that also boast convenient dial-type hydraulic-preload adjusters. Superb stability, agility and comfort - especially at high cruising speeds - rests with the perfectly balanced chassis carrying the big engine.

Bandit 1250S
It stole the imagination of open road riders everywhere. Now the Bandit is even better with its unmatched balance of superior performance, eye-catching style and advanced technology and is now also available in Metallic Grey with an Anti-lock Braking System(ABS).

The compact 1,255cc liquid-cooled engine delivers arm-stretching power and torque, civilised by the smooth acceleration of the new SDTV fuel injection system. A secondary balancer shaft reduces vibration while the new slick-shifting six-speed transmission improves acceleration, at the same time reducing top gear rpm at highway speeds. A hydraulic clutch and liquid-cooled oil cooler complete the big-bore power plant.

SV1000S
Presenting the SV1000 Series in two dynamic versions: The naked SV1000 and the half-faired SV1000S. Powered by a proven Suzuki V-twin engine in a slim black chassis, the SV1000S is a machine that flexes it's raw muscle. The big bore short stroke V-twin has been turned to produce a broad powerband with exceptional torque and throttle response at low and middle rpm.

Both models feature raised compression and revisions to the cam profile and ECM settings to complement an increase in the fuel injection throttle bore. Superb handling is courtesy of the innovative aluminium-alloy truss frame riding on fully adjustable suspension for a perfectly tailored ride.

Boulevard M109R
The Boulevard M109R is the most powerful cruiser Suzuki has ever produced. The all-new liquid-cooled 1,783cc engine featuring four valves per cylinder and SDTV digital fuel injection gives you all the power you need, when you need it.

This monster packs the largest engine pistons of any production car or bike on the planet. Each of the huge 112mm forged aluminium-alloy pistons use short skirts and cutaway sides to reduce friction and provide the rider with raw, unstoppable muscle.

V-STROM 1000
Presenting a bike so revolutionary it opened the door on an entirely new motorcycle category: Sport Enduro Tourer. City road, open road, it has the cornering clearance of a sportsbike, the cruising capability of a tourer.

A powerplant based on the proven TL1000, a textbook example of advance design that houses a pulsing 90° V-twin. A performance package rich in refinements, the aluminium twin-spar frame is lighter than steel frames. An upright seating position ensures optimum visibility, the 22-litre fuel tank gives you the riding range of a touring machine. Engineered to have no limits, this all-rounder lets you live the adventure in your mind.

GS500
Even at standstill this bike's classic gilt-edged styling is impossible to miss. Short one-piece handlebars and a sculpted fuel tank provide a compelling urge to hop on board. double-beam chassis optimises rigidity and perfectly frames the engine.

A slim parallel-twin engine. Style with substance, a tough black makes for a bulk-free motorcycle that exploits the 487cc to the full. Comfort wise, a smooth seat allows the rider to shift riding position when cornering, while the grippy pillion seat and grabrail make two-up riding a breeze. The GS500. A dream ride for any destination.

Intruder 250LC
The pulsing rhythm of a thumping V-twin. It's the sound of performance and no 250 plays it like this Intruder. An escapist with performance hunger, this cruiser's three-valve-per-cylinder V-twin, with advanced gearshift technology, delivers the grunt every rider thrives on. Big and long, its menace comes from a sweeping chrome-plated muffler, deep flared fenders and a fat teardrop fuel tank. A long wheelbase and deep-seated style complete a cruiser that screams presence and performance.
Burgman 650
Any discussion of the Burgman 650 must begin with its transmission.

The Suzuki Electronically Controlled Continuously Variable Transmission. The button-operated SECCVT not only provides continuously smooth automatic operation, it also offers you the option of switching to manual shifting.Powerwise, the largest displacement engine in its class is a fuel-injected eight-valve twin cylinder liquid-cooled package.

On board, an adjustable rider backrest and optional pillion backrest. Storage space includes a 56 litre underseat compartment, enough for two helmets. Quite simply, it's a magic machine.

DR650SE
The DR650SE offers you the versatility of hitting the highways or raising the dust. And without compromise on either surface.

A rigid frame and short wheelbase provide off-road maneuverability, while loads of tractable horsepower from the big grunty engine translates into effortless high-speed cruising. The engine's SCEM coating keeps it dramatically cooler to reduce friction and wear. And superb comfort comes from a streamlined seat with 40mm variable seat height position and a vibration-reducing balancer system. On the highways or toughing it out in the dirt, this is Suzuki's ultimate Dual Sport Bike.

DR-Z400E
This is the bike that, unlike any other, fits the description of a dirt-churning weapon. The bike that year after year rocks its rivals, this year comes loaded with high-tech ammunition. The DR-Z's motivation comes from 398cc of displacement, DOHC with four huge valves and liquid cooling. The forged piston is 10% lighter than one conventionally cast, an L-shaped top piston ring reduces blow-by, while copious use of aluminium and magnesium lowers weight and improves heat transfer.

Putting this power into practice you get a thumper producing great wads of power right off the bottom, a strong delivery that builds right through the mid range and enough torque to grunt you up anything. No wider than many 250's, yet just as agile, the seat is comfortably rounded, the steering poised and precise. The frame is thin-wall, chrome-moly steel tubing in a combination of round and rectangular cross-section, delivering superb rigidity with minimum weight.

RM-Z450
With its perfect balance of performance and handling, Suzuki's latest 450 weapon was born to dominate. Strong, controllable power delivery complemented by extraordinarily lightweight handling means you can launch out of corners with breathtaking acceleration and attack the gnarliest sections of the track with total confidence.

At the heart of this beast is a powerful titanium-valved 4-stroke engine, with improved performance, particularly at the bottom and mid-ranges. This is thanks to reshaped intake ports, higher compression, iridium spark plugs and revised carburettor settings. The lightweight exhaust system boasts a longer titanium header pipe for more power, yet is kept quieter with a new FIM-spec muffler.

It's just not possible to cover the entire Suzuki range on one page so we have featured some of the more popular models above. To see the complete range of Suzuki motorcycles and scooters available please visit the Suzuki Australia website.
